Attention! The DEFINITIVE Rules and Guidelines Post: [Nov. 16th, 2012|03:25 am]
jagaimo art journal
Welcome to the definitive rules and guidelines post.

So far this is an open journal, in that it's not just limited to "Friends Only", as it's still growing and doesn't have many friends anyways.

But, there are a few guidelines for viewing artwork or poetry here at jagaimo:

Regarding illustrations:

1. My illustrations are not to be posted ANYWHERE without my permission under any circumstances. EVER. I could care less if you posted it somewhere and said "Oh someone else made this." because it won't suffice. If you didn't get express permission from me, then don't use it. This includes hotlinking.

2. However, if I draw something for you, you are free to post it wherever, as long as you mention that either Erin Turberville drew it, or link back here saying that "potato-sensei" drew it.

3. Do not edit any of my drawings and then call them yours.

4. Do not post in any languages other than English or French (but mostly English please. I'm not that great at French).

5. Please use constructive criticism, and/or overall positive comments. I'm not saying lie to me and tell me something's good when it's not; I'm saying if you notice something I can improve on, don't be a jerk about it. Because if you're an ass about it, I'll just pay you no heed and delete your comment anyways.

6. Also, please refrain from comparing it to "other anime/manga" or saying it looks like "such and such manga character". I do next to no fanart, basically because I don't feel like butchering another artist's creation. And when someone looks at my art and goes "Oh, that looks like Misao from Kenshin." it makes me feel like a lame-o copycat even if it doesn't resemble the character in the least.

Regarding poetry and prose:

1. My poetry is not to be reposted anywhere else. Ever. You will never ever be given permission to repost my poetry, so here it is right now: if you catch anyone reposting poetry from jagaimo, and saying they got permission, you know they're lying because NO ONE WILL EVER BE GIVEN PERMISSION TO REPOST MY POETRY ANYWHERE.

2. Comment settings have automatically been disabled for all poetry entries for four basic reasons:

a. comments that aren't serious about my poetry (i.e. ur liek so emo)

b. comments that read too much into my poetry (ZOMG! did u liek write this about me! I haet u nows!)

c. comments implying that I'm suicidal because I write sad poetry

d. comments picking apart my grammar of all things (i.e. ZOMG! u liek needs to capitalize and ues punctuation?!!!11111oneirony!!!11)

3. It may seem odd to say so, but never ever read my poetry alloud. I have heard several people try to read my poems alloud, and it just never sounds right. I think it would send more of a message to someone if they read it anyways. If you want someone to read a poem, this is an open journal, SEND THEM A LINK.

This post will be updated as often as neccessary (which, hopefully won't be that often).

Tadaa! [Nov. 30th, 2006|05:16 pm]

I can't post any drawings until I get the downstairs cleaned and organized, and get my printer/scanner hooked up again. The computer has moved, and been repaired, and people around here are lazy (me included), so don't expect to see anything but poetry for the next few days.

kthxbai.

more rules and guidelines blahness: [Nov. 15th, 2006|11:22 pm]
jagaimo art journal
Until I get around to just making a definitive rules and guidelines posts, I'll keep posting rules and such in their own posts.

I'm just gonna avoid the runaround and disable comments on poetry posts.

Reasons being:

a. comments that aren't serious about my poetry (i.e. ur liek so emo)

b. comments that read too much into my poetry (ZOMG! did u liek write this about me! I haet u nows!)

c. comments implying that I'm suicidal because I write sad poetry

d. comments picking apart my grammar of all things (i.e. ZOMG! u liek needs to capitalize and ues punctuation?!!!11111oneirony!!!11)

Because all of the above has happened, and I hate it immensely when it does. If you really have something you feel you need to say to me about a poem, email me (because most of you have my email address anyways). And please, please, please, do not post my poems anywhere else. Ever. And never ever ever read my poetry alloud because I hate the sound of it when someone reads it alloud. If you want someone to read it, print them out a copy, send them a link here, or whatever.

Sorry for ranting about silly rules; eventually I'll write some definitive guidelines and you won't have to put up with this.

part of me [Nov. 15th, 2006|11:15 pm]
jagaimo art journal
i know that it's not right to hate

but part of me wishes that I'd hate you

because part of me cries and part of me dies

everytime part of me thinks of you

part of me thought that you were true

part of me thought you loved me

but the truth was that you didn't love me

you only loved part of me

it hurts to think of parts of you

your face

your voice

your name

part of me wants to forget that part

and the part where you betrayed me

part of me is so glad that you're gone

but part of me misses you too

because the whole time we were together

you only played a part

i can try but it'll never go away

it'll always leave a scar

because love is something you can get even when you don't need it

but you only loved in part

*shoots pencils*!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Nov. 7th, 2006|04:57 pm]
jagaimo art journal
Ok, I'm trying to color the lineart that junemermaid sent me, but my damn color pencils are ready to bite the dust... My thumb is hurting from sharpening one pencil a million times; and no matter how many times I sharpen it, the tip just falls off... Agh! I just want to chew the freaking pencil up and spit it out!!!!!!

*angry stomp*

Ok, so yeah... am still working on it, but have to go to Michael's and get new pencils (which is good because I was running out of black, red, peach, and sand, aka, my most used colors).

But I have Markesh's skin and hair colored, but then I might re do the colors because it kind of looks shi#y.

bubai for now. Gotta make rice.

It's the koi fish, aka, the moon and ocean spirits from Avatar.

It's a pretty basic animation, with only four images. I did the base in MS paint and the animating in MS GIF Animator.

I had to watch my sister's kids, and as always, Ash dooped me into drawing her a picture. We were watching "Creature from the Black Lagoon", and since it's about Halloween, I drew a witch. It's so lame and cliche, but she loves it. Also, it scanned it wierd because of the paper I used. It was really thin paper, so it like carved into the page when I pressed really hard with the pencils.

First post here on my art journal. It's here so all my friends can comment, rather than on DA where you have to have an account to comment. I'm still posting artwork on DA though.

As a general rule, please don't repost the stuff here on other sites. I'm not naming names, but there's at least one person on my friends list who I've caught reposting stuff (i.e. poems, and entire blog posts) on other sites, and thinking it's suffice to say "Oh, someone else wrote it."

I want to keep my art journal open, so that lots of people can look at it, but if I catch people reposting stuff on other places, it'll be set to friends only posts.
